CE-Pro will compile a compliant Owners Manual automatically. It should be noted, however, that whilst providing an attractive document, the automatic OM is unashamedly intended to do no more than meet RCD requirements. The standard document will not be an elaborate crew operations and training manual. Nor will it make a glitzy marketing document. It provides the minimum mandatory information and warnings. As an option, CE Proof can customise the clients' version of CE-Pro so that it generates an OM in the clients' style.
Some editing of the OM is required as not all the data in the OM pertains to systems covered by the Directive's Essential Safety Requirements. For the most part, however, the document simply compiles data from the other worksheets. For this reason the OM should be the last worksheet to be completed.
The OM worksheet includes data for all possible boats and all possible options. To create a specific manual, the user clicks on a button to run a macro that then works through the document, removing from view the inapplicable sections. (They are not deleted from the project file so as to allow for the addition of components in the future). The User can manually override the macro to keep or hide individual sections.
The standard template automatically generates a Contents Page for the OM.
Each section looks up data from other sheets. For example, the AC Electrical section includes all the breaker settings as shown below.
