Changes
made to CE-Pro since launch
Last updated:
31 October 2005
CE-Pro is in a permanent state of continuous improvement.
As more users feedback their comments and ideas, the improvements reflect
an ever-wider perspective. Here is a list of the more significant changes
made to the software since it was launched:
Technical
- Analysis of strong points for mooring now features
fully explicit drop-down boxes to make the assessment far more understandable
for non-engineers.
- Drop-down boxes added to all fields in the Openings
table to preclude the need to look-up references.
- New column added to the openings table to record the
position of an opening relative to the mast. This allows CE Pro to assess
whether high impact resistant glass is required in a hatch, window or
portlight. (ref ISO12216)
- RINA rudder stock strength calculation added.
- Cell for recording transverse position of steering
wheel added so that CE Pro can estimate the height of the sheerline
directly in front of the steering wheel, rather than at the stemhead
on the centreline. Where the sheerline rises sharply to the stemhead,
the difference in line of sight to the waterline can be significantly
altered by the wheel being moved off the centreline.
- New drop-down box to describe location of fuel tank(s)
to enable.......
- New section for assessing free ventilation of petrol
tank spaces. (A section for the forced and free ventilation of engine
spaces was already included).
- Systems page of TCF appended with tick-boxes for non-RCD
features that are not relevent for the TCF but may be relevant for the
Owners Manual
- New sheet added to TCF for recording non-RCD information
for the Owners Manual so that less editing is required of the OM at
a later stage
Administrative
- Button to hide/reveal the hidden HIN/CIN location from
the list of Labels. This allows the printed list to passed around with
the risk of the hidden HIN's location becomming known.
- Compression facility added to toolbar. (Compresses
all images and removes "cropped" sections that are not visible.
The first completed TCF file CEproof stafff compressed in this manner
reduced from 36MB to an impressive 8MB with no visible reduction in
quality. )
- TCF section given a page to record details of systems
that are not covered by RCD requirements yet would normally be described
in the Owners Manual - eg fresh water & hydraulics. These are automatically
included in the Owners Manual.
- Toolbar removal/relinking routine improved when several
CE Pro files are open.
- Removed “unpackaging routine” for faster
start-up.
- Button added to the Owners Manual toolbar to automatically
resize lines so that they show all the text.
- Structures removed to an external file. This makes
it easier to update the structural section as the ISO standard is re-drafted.
It also allows builders to change structure without having to touch
the rest of the TCF. It also reduces file sizes so that file handling
is much quicker.
- Button added to Owners Manual toolbar to insert new
lines/sections into the manual and if appropriate, add new headers to
the list of contents table.
- Button added to Owners Manual toolbar to refresh the
numbering of sections. This is required if a user manually deletes lines/headers.
- Owners Manual unlocked so that users can make any
visual modifications such as changes in logo, fonts, colours, etc.
- Button added to automatically resize and locate pictures
to fit neatly within page breaks
- Owners Manual given new pages for drawings and photos
- Page with list of abbreviations appended to Owners
Manual
- Macro added to automatically resize and layout photos/pictures
on the images pages in the TCF and Owners Manuals
